We give high priority to research studies since the beginning of the department. These studies are research projects that are well organized, ethically approved and strictly controlled. In our Department, we never do any research without the information and consent of the patient. The results of the studies have been published in national and international journals, presented and discussed in important congress.
Published 43 articles in Science Citation Index cited 465 times and h index of our department is 11.
Our Department has both undergraduate and graduate programs. We participate in first and second graders by Problem-Oriented Sessions and Specific Study Modules. Fourth and fifth-grade students join our department as a part of the task-based learning program. We also used flipped classroom techniques. Internship in Otolaryngology is optional for the sixth graders. We have summer programs for volunteer students. We have a rich Otolaryngology resident program which was accredited by the National Otolaryngology and Head&Neck Surgery Board. Our Medical School has been accredited by the National Medical Education Committee, also.
We use different diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for Otology(Ear disease), Otoneurology(Hearing and balance), Rhinology (Nose and Paranasal Sinuses), Head and Neck problems. We have collaboration protocols with Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Nuclear Medicine and Neurosurgery.
Besides normal policlinic visits, There are specialized policlinics on Vertigo, Allergy, Child with Hearing Loss an Oncology.
All hearing and balance tests are available. We have a joint protocol for vestibular rehabilitation with the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department.
It was Accredited by National Otolaryngology and Head&Neck Surgery Board in 2017
It has internationally known experienced faculty.
It is the favorite choice of successful resident candidates every year.
All residents have chances to join research projects, to prepare manuscripts, to attend the congress besides surgical training.
There is a great collaboration between Neurosurgery, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiology Departments.

Newborn Hearing Screening Program--If a newborn baby can’t pass the hearing screening program in any hospital in Denizli region, they come to us as a reference clinic. Our clinic is integrated into the National Newborn Hearing Screening Program as tertiary care center
Hearing Rehabilitation Program--In our clinic, all surgical and non-surgical treatment methods are available for patients of all ages with hearing loss. All endoscopic or microscopic ear surgeries are successfully performed using the latest technologies. All rehabilitation methods are applied, from hearing aids to bone-anchored implants or cochlear implants.
Balance Disorders Program--Patients who have health problems such as vertigo, imbalance, dizziness, swimming sensation are evaluated with the most advanced tests and cutting edge treatment methods are used.
Head and Neck Oncology Program --Head and neck cancer patients are being evaluated and treated with the protocols that are constructed by specialized doctors from Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, and Pathology
Allergy diagnosis and treatment program--Skin tests, medical or surgical treatments related to allergic rhinitis, sinusitis or nasal polyps are performed regularly in our clinic.
Polyclinic-- In addition to the normal otolaryngology outpatient clinic, there are specialized polyclinics such as head and neck oncology, vertigo, hearing loss, and allergy.
Intervention Units-- In the building where our Otorlaryngology outpatient clinic is located, we have units for Radiofrequency surgery, Intratympanic Treatment, Minor Surgery, Voice Therapy, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Allergy Vaccine.
Test Units-- Audiometry, Tympanometry, Wideband Tympanometry, Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry, Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials, Otoacoustic Emissions, Electronystagmography, Videonistagmography, Video Head Impuls Test, Rhinomanometry, Sound Analysis, Phmetry, Sleep Test, Allergy Tests can be performed in outpatient clinic.
Inpatient Service-- Inpatient service is located on the 11th floor of plaza tower and consists of single and double rooms.
The Operating Rooms-- The operating rooms are located on the 1st floor of the plaza tower. We have 7 modern operating rooms during a week between 08:00 am and 17:00 pm. There are high technology infrastructure to perform all microscopic and endoscopic surgery.
Pamukkale unıversity was founded in 1992. The establishment of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology was approved at the meeting of the YÖK executive board on 08-02-1993.
